Our vision is to provide a network and forum for the aerospace community in Canada, to stimulate challenging dialogue on relevant issues and articulate conclusions to representative bodies, and to mentor development of aerospace personnel.

History of the Montreal Branch
The Royal Aeronautical Society Montreal Branch was initiated in 2002 with a lecture by the then President of the Society, Professor Ian Poll. Momentum was created in September 2003 with a lecture by Ron Davies, Curator of Air Transport at the Smithsonian Institution. The Branch was formally constituted at an Annual General Meeting on 7 October 2003.
The Montreal Branch is situated within an extensive aviation community including the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), the International Air Transport Association (IATA), the Canadian Space Agency, Air Canada, Air Transat, Bombardier Aerospace, CAE, Pratt & Whitney Canada, and Rolls-Royce, and many others.
Montreal is also home to educational institutions having dedicated aviation-related programs: the International Centre for Aviation Management Education and Research (AMERC), the Institute of Aerospace Design and Innovation (CIADI), McGill University with the Association for the Development of Aerospace Medecine (ADAM), the Air & Space Law Institute, and the Master in Aerospace Engineering program, the Ecole de Technologie Superieure; Ecole Polytechnique de Montreal; and the Ecole Nationale d’Aerotechnique.
